AOMNC's mission
is simple -- to support AP/OM changes to Medicare/Social Security
Laws (Title 18) for well trained AP/OM practitioners taking
their place as STATUTORY MEDICARE PROVIDERS making available
financial access for 39 million Medicare Recipients and 9
million Federal Employees (Title 5) not to mention health
care changes for 300 million Americans; to provide free access
to links offering excellent benefits; access to lobbying efforts;
and other services for the 'silent majority' of 'qualified
acupuncture' practitioners.
Some vendors
do in fact charge fees for their services. AOMNC will negotiate
preferred prices for it's members.
A great Neuro
surgeon in the West, turned Spiritual leader,said...."that
in the Orient the people have the spirit, vision, eyes
while in the West we have the material, legs, foundation."
He further commented, "that in the Orient, people die
from material hunger while being rich in sprititual
food and in the West people die from overeating
while lacking spiritual food."
What
urgently needs
to take place within the United States, is that the health
care paradigm fully embraces
and integrates Acupuncture/Oriental wholistic healthcare
as practiced just about everywhere else
in the world and not continue to give it meaningless lip-service
with half-measures and untrained practitioners. The 'payers'
both in government and private sectors need to cease and desist
inappropriate reimbursement of the untrained and/or poorly
trained who are attempting to practice this healing art and
science which requires many years of study with appropriate
clinical experience.
